Peace and Calm
My journey in photography has always been a search for tranquility and simplicity. It started with the summers I spent as a child on a remote Maine island. There, the lake would often be enveloped in a quiet, serene fog. The water was perfectly calm, and the lonely haunting calls of the loons were the only sound. In that stillness, the pressures of the world—school, peer judgment, and nonstop activity—simply dissolved. I always returned to my everyday life feeling completely rejuvenated.
In the colder winter months, I'd long for big snowfalls to recapture that same quietude. The snow had a way of wiping awaythe noise and clutter, leaving everything clean and beautifully silent. Soon, I learned how to capture those evocative scenes and feelings on film.
Now,during times of turbulence in our country and the world, I find solace in these images hanging on my walls. They are constant, comforting reminders that a deep serenity still exists in our world. I only need to gaze at them to instantly return to that sense of peace and calm.
