Of Trees and Windmills


The Netherlands in autumn. A land of forests and flat lands, water and windmills. And rain! Rain brings out colors but also can create a canvas on which to paint impressionistic images. There is also an orderliness in the Dutch landscape - tree lined roads and canals - while permitting forests to live naturally in pockets of the land. Their production of energy pits the old against the new - windmills of charm vs towers of steel. It is a land of cleanliness and simplicity. It is peaceful and calming.
